This Privacy Policy explains how CLEW Corp (“Clew,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal information when you visit clew.us (the “Site”), contact us, or purchase our products. By using the Site, you agree to this Policy and our Terms & Conditions. We may update this Policy from time to time; if we make material changes, we’ll update the “Last updated” date above.
cope. This Policy applies to Site visitors and customers in the United States and Canada. We do not target users in the EU/UK. If you access the Site from outside the U.S. or Canada, you do so at your own initiative and your information may be processed in the U.S. and other countries.

1) Notice at Collection (What we collect, why, and if we “sell” or “share”)
We collect the categories below for the purposes listed. Under California law, “sell” means exchanging personal information for money or other valuable consideration; “share” means disclosing it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Where we say we “sell/share,” you may opt out (see Section 7).
A. Identifiers & Contact Information. Name, email, phone, billing/shipping address, order number.
Purposes: Process orders, deliver products, customer support, respond to inquiries, prevent fraud, marketing (with consent/where permittedå).
Disclosures: Service providers (e-commerce platform, payment processors, shipping carriers, support tools), analytics/advertising partners (see Section 6), anti-fraud vendors.
Sell/Share: May share for cross-context advertising and analytics; no sale for money.
B. Account & Commercial Information. Account credentials you create (hashed passwords), order history, cart contents, preferences, support history, warranty/RMA records.
Purposes: Provide and improve services, fulfill orders/returns, personalize content, customer service, recordkeeping.
Disclosures: Service providers (hosting/e-commerce, ticketing/CRM), analytics providers.
Sell/Share: May share for advertising/analytics; no sale for money.
C. Payment Information. Card/bank details are collected and processed by our payment processors (e.g., Shopify Payments/PayPal/BNPL). We do not store full card numbers.
Purposes: Process transactions, refunds, fraud prevention.
Disclosures: Payment processors, anti-fraud services.
Sell/Share: No.
D. Internet / Device Activity. IP address, device/OS/browser, pages viewed, referring/exit URLs, timestamps, approximate location from IP, cookie IDs, SDK and pixel events.
Purposes: Operate the Site, security, analytics, improve performance and user experience, measure campaigns, prevent fraud.
Disclosures: Analytics/advertising partners, security vendors, hosting/CDN.
Sell/Share: May sell/share for advertising/analytics.
E. Geolocation (coarse). City/region derived from IP address.
Purposes: Localize content (e.g., currency/shipping), fraud prevention, analytics.
Disclosures: Analytics/ads partners, fraud/security tools.
Sell/Share: May sell/share for advertising/analytics.
F. Inferences. Profile inferences from your interactions (e.g., likely interests in certain products).
Purposes: Personalize recommendations, improve marketing relevance, understand trends.
Disclosures: Analytics/ads partners, internal use.
Sell/Share: May sell/share for advertising/analytics.
G. Sensitive Information. We do not seek to collect sensitive personal information. If you create an account, your password is treated as sensitive and used only to maintain your account’s security. We do not use or disclose sensitive personal information to infer characteristics.

2) Sources of information
- You: forms, checkout, account creation, support requests, emails, surveys, product reviews/UGC.
- Automatic collection: cookies, pixels, SDKs, logs (see Section 6).
- Service providers: payment processors, fraud tools, shipping carriers, support/CRM, analytics.
- Advertising/analytics partners: campaign and engagement data.
- Public / combined sources: to maintain accurate records (e.g., address validation, fraud databases).
3) How we use personal information
We use personal information to:
- Fulfill orders & provide services (process payments, ship, returns/warranty, account features).
- Communicate & support (order updates, responses to inquiries, service notices).
- Improve & secure the Site (debugging, analytics, preventing fraud and abuse).
- Personalize & market (recommendations, promotions, interest-based ads where permitted).
- Comply with laws (tax, accounting, legal holds) and enforce terms.
- Research & development (aggregate statistics and product improvement).
We use sensitive information only for permitted purposes (e.g., account security) and not to infer characteristics.
4) Disclosures to third parties
We disclose personal information to:
- Service providers / contractors (bound by contract to use data only for us): e-commerce/hosting/CDN, payment processing and fraud screening, shipping/logistics, customer support and ticketing, email/SMS tools, cloud storage, analytics, site search, and UX testing.
- Advertising & analytics partners (see Section 6): to measure performance, prevent fraud, and provide interest-based advertising.
- Corporate transactions: in merger, acquisition, financing, or asset sale (subject to confidentiality and your privacy rights).
- Legal & safety: to comply with law, respond to lawful requests, protect rights, safety, and property of Clew, our users, or others.
- With your direction: e.g., when you intentionally interact with a third party.
We do not sell personal information for money. We may “sell” or “share” personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as described in Sections 1 and 6; you can opt out (Section 7).
5) Retention
We retain personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described, including to comply with legal, tax, accounting, and reporting obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Typical retention ranges:
- Order & tax records: up to 7 years.
- Support tickets: ~24 months after closure.
- Marketing preferences/suppression lists: retained to honor opt-outs.
- Analytics logs: commonly 12–26 months (or per partner settings).
When retention ends, we delete or de-identify information consistent with applicable law.
6) Cookies, analytics, and interest-based advertising
We use first- and third-party cookies, pixels, and similar technologies to operate the Site, remember preferences, measure traffic, and serve/measure ads. These may collect identifiers (e.g., cookie IDs), device data, pages viewed, and events.
Analytics. We use analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics) to understand Site usage and improve performance. Analytics partners act as our service providers and/or independent controllers—see their privacy policies for details.
Advertising. We and our partners may use cookies and identifiers to show relevant ads on our Site and elsewhere, and to measure campaign performance and detect fraud. This may be considered “selling” or “sharing” under California law and “targeted advertising” under certain state laws.
Your choices.
- Use our cookie banner/controls to manage non-essential cookies.
- Enable the Global Privacy Control (GPC) in supported browsers—we treat it as a “Do Not Sell or Share / Opt-Out of Targeted Advertising” signal for that browser.
- Industry tools: Digital Advertising Alliance (optout.aboutads.info), NAI (optout.networkadvertising.org), and (for mobile) device ad-settings. Opt-outs are browser/device-specific and may reset if you clear cookies.
Do Not Track. We do not respond to DNT, but we honor GPC as described.
7) Your privacy rights (United States)
Depending on your state, you may have rights to:
- Know / Access (categories and, in some jurisdictions, specific pieces).
- Delete personal information.
- Correct inaccuracies.
- Portability (receive a copy in a portable format).
- Opt-out of sale/share/targeted advertising (we provide a “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information / Opt-Out of Targeted Advertising” control and honor GPC).
- Limit use/disclosure of sensitive information (we do not use it beyond permitted purposes).
- Appeal a decision if we deny your request (VA/CO/CT, etc.).
- No retaliation for exercising rights.
How to exercise. Email support@clew.de with your request and state of residence, or use the Site controls where available. We will verify your identity (and authority, if an authorized agent is acting for you) before fulfilling requests. We will respond within 45 days (we may take an additional 45 days where permitted). Some requests may be denied or partially fulfilled due to legal exceptions.
California (CCPA/CPRA).
You also have the right to:
- Receive a “Notice at Collection” (see Section 1).
- Opt out of sale and sharing (Section 6/7).
- Know whether we sell/share and to whom (ads/analytics partners as described).
- “Shine the Light” (Cal. Civ. Code §1798.83): we do not share personal information with third parties for their own direct marketing; if this changes, we will provide a method to request details.
Virginia, Colorado, Connecticut, Utah. We offer opt-outs for targeted advertising and honor applicable state rights.
Nevada. We do not sell personal information for money; Nevada residents may still submit an opt-out request to support@clew.de.
8) Canada (PIPEDA)
If you reside in Canada, you have rights to access and correct personal information, subject to lawful exceptions. Your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States and other jurisdictions where privacy laws may differ. We use service providers under agreements that protect your information; it may be accessible to foreign authorities where permitted by law. 9) Financial incentives
From time to time we may offer discounts, coupons, or promotions in exchange for providing your email/phone or participating in a referral program. The material terms (e.g., amount, eligibility, how to join/withdraw) will be presented at sign-up. We estimate the value of your data based on the discount or our reasonable but non-discriminatory calculation of anticipated revenue and costs. You may withdraw at any time (e.g., by unsubscribing or contacting support@clew.de
10) Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information (e.g., encryption in transit, network and access controls, limited access on a need-to-know basis). No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11) Children’s privacy
The Site is intended for adults (18+) and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child provided information, contact support@clew.de and we will delete it as required by law.
12) User-generated content
If you submit reviews, photos, or other user-generated content, the content may be public. Do not include personal information you do not wish to disclose. We may moderate or remove content consistent with our Terms.
13) International transfers
We operate in the United States. If you access the Site from another country, you understand your information may be transferred to and processed in the U.S. and other jurisdictions with different data protection laws. We apply the protections described in this Policy to all personal information we process, regardless of location.
14) Changes to this Policy
We may modify this Privacy Policy. Changes are effective when posted to this page with an updated “Last updated” date. If we make material changes, we will take steps required by law (e.g., obtain consent where needed).
